1. What types of lifting chains do you manufacture?
We specialize in high-performance alloy steel lifting chains for industrial applications:
Grade 80 & Grade 100 Alloy Lifting Slings: The standard for overhead lifting. Grade 100 offers higher strength-to-weight ratio.
Single, Double, Triple, & Quad Leg Slings: With various master link configurations.
Endless (Grommet) Slings
Custom Assemblies with hooks, shackles, and other fittings.
Welded & Mechanical Assembly Lugs.
2. What is the difference between Grade 80, Grade 100, and Grade 30/43 (Proof Coil)?
This is the most critical distinction for safety and performance:
Grade 30/43 (Proof Coil): General purpose, NOT for overhead lifting. Used for tie-downs, towing, logging.
Grade 80 (Alloy): Standard for overhead lifting. Heat-treated alloy steel. Marked with "80" on each link.
Grade 100 (Alloy): High-performance lifting chain. Stronger than Grade 80, allowing a smaller diameter chain to lift the same load, making it lighter and more flexible. Marked with "100".
We manufacture and recommend Grade 80 and 100 for all overhead lifting applications.
3. How is the Working Load Limit (WLL) determined?
The Working Load Limit (WLL) is the maximum load the chain assembly is certified to lift in a straight, in-line pull. It is calculated as:
WLL = Minimum Breaking Force (MBF) / Safety Factor
For Grade 80, the standard safety factor is 4:1.
For Grade 100, the standard safety factor is 4:1 (or 5:1 depending on regional standards).
The WLL is derated based on the sling angle. We provide comprehensive load charts.
4. How do I select the correct chain size and configuration?
Selection requires knowing:
Weight of the Load: The maximum weight to be lifted.
Lifting Configuration: The angle of the sling legs (e.g., straight pull, 60°, 45°, 30°). As the angle decreases, tension on each leg increases dramatically.
Type of Hitch: (Basket, Choker, Vertical).
Environment: Exposure to heat, chemicals, or abrasion.
We strongly recommend consulting a qualified rigger or using our online WLL calculator. Our technical team can assist.
5. How do I request a quote?
For a precise quote, please provide:
Chain Grade (80 or 100) and Diameter.
Sling Configuration (Single leg, 2-leg, etc.) and Length.
Required WLL or load details.
Type of end fittings (hooks, master links, etc.).
Any required certifications.
Certifications: Our chains are manufactured and tested to ASME B30.9, EN 818-2/5, ISO 7593, and other major regional standards. Third-party inspection and certification (e.g., ABS, DNV) available.
6. Can you supply the complete lifting assembly?
Yes. We are a complete lifting solutions provider. We can supply ready-to-use assemblies including:
Alloy Chain of specified grade, size, and length.
Master Links, Coupling Links, and Intermediate Links.
Hooks (Grab, Clevis, Eye, Sorting) with safety latches.
Shackles (Bow, Dee).
All components are rated and matched to the chain's WLL.
7. How should lifting chains be inspected and maintained?
Daily inspection is mandatory for safety:
Visual Inspection: Look for wear, nicks, gouges, stretch, corrosion, or deformed links.
Gauge Inspection: Use a go/no-go gauge to check for link elongation. If the gauge drops into a stretched link, the chain must be removed from service.
Cleaning & Lubrication: Clean off debris and apply a light coat of oil to prevent corrosion.
Record Keeping: Maintain an inspection log for each sling.
8. Are your chains suitable for high-temperature use?
Alloy chains lose strength at high temperatures. The maximum working temperature for Grade 80/100 is 400°F (204°C). For higher temperatures, special considerations and derating are required. Consult our engineers for high-temp applications.
9. What is your MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity)?
Standard Chain Slings (from catalog): MOQ 50 pieces.
Bulk Chain by the Meter: MOQ 1,000 meters.
Custom OEM Assemblies: MOQ 100 pieces (negotiable).
10. What is the lead time?
Standard Slings: 20-30 working days.
Custom/Certified Orders: 35-45 working days.
