(A)Production Description:
1. Premium 316 (A4) Stainless Steel
Marine-Grade Material: Manufactured from 316 (1.4401/A4) stainless steel, containing 2-3% Molybdenum for superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in saltwater environments-far exceeding the capabilities of 304 stainless.
Forged for Strength: Critical load-bearing components (shackle body and bolt) are hot-forged from solid stainless steel billets. This forging process aligns the grain structure, eliminating porosity and providing maximum tensile strength, impact resistance, and fatigue life.
Full Traceability: All raw materials come with Mill Test Certificates (MTC) verifying chemical composition and mechanical properties per ASTM A276/A479.
2. Secure Bolt & Nut Fastening System
Bolt Design: The load pin is a high-strength bolt with precision-cut threads. The shoulder of the bolt seats securely against the shackle ear, preventing side load on the threads.
Nut & Locking Mechanism: A heavy hex nut is used, secured by a stainless steel cotter pin (split pin). This provides a positive, vibration-proof lock that cannot loosen, making it ideal for permanent installations or high-vibration environments (e.g., on vessels, docks, or machinery).
Safety Alternative: Some models may use a castle nut or Nylock nut where a cotter pin is not desired.
3. Precise D-Shape (Anchor Shackle) Design
Bow Shape: The rounded "D" or bow shape provides a larger bearing surface for connecting multiple sling legs (e.g., in basket or choke hitches) compared to chain shackles, with less reduction in rated capacity when loaded at an angle.
Smooth Radius & Finish: All load-bearing surfaces feature smooth, generous radii to minimize stress concentrations. Surfaces are highly polished or electropolished not only for corrosion resistance but also to prevent damage to wire ropes and slings.
Clear Markings: Each shackle is permanently marked with its Working Load Limit (WLL) in tons and kN, the material grade (316), and a unique identifier for traceability.

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) or Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI) on 100% of shackle bodies and bolts to detect surface flaws.
Mechanical Testing: Sample shackles from each batch are destructively tested to verify the Minimum Breaking Load (MBL) meets the specified safety factor (e.g., 5:1 or 6:1).
Documentation: Can provide Material Certificates, NDT reports, and load test certificates. For marine class approval, we coordinate with surveyors for factory acceptance testing.
