Body: The main C- or D-shaped loop.

5. How do I determine the correct size and load capacity?
Selection is based on two factors:

Throat Opening: Must be large enough to accept the item(s) you need to connect (e.g., rope diameter, shackle bow, link).

Working Load Limit (WLL): The hook's WLL must exceed the maximum anticipated force in the system. We provide clear WLL markings (in kN or lbs) on our hooks. Never exceed the WLL.

6. What is the Working Load Limit (WLL) and safety factor?
Working Load Limit (WLL): The maximum load the hook should be subjected to in routine service.

Minimum Breaking Load (MBL): The load at which the hook will fail. Typically, the safety factor is 4:1 or 5:1 (MBL = 4x or 5x WLL). This is standard for general lifting/marine hardware.

For Fall Arrest: Dedicated fall protection snap hooks have different, much stricter standards (e.g., ANSI Z359.1, EN 362). Please specify if you need a rated fall protection hook.
