Thimbles are perfect for wire ropes terminating in a loop and are one of the most commonly used end fittings for steel cable. They are used to help protect the steel wire-rope which forms the eye,and therefore will greatly extend the working life of the rope, they also add extra rigidity to a soft loop making it stronger and much easier to attach wherever it is needed.

Quality control:
*We have specialized QC testers to check the quality of the products according to different customers'
requirement. Usually, it's random inspection, and we also offer 100% inspection at a reasonable price
     if required.
*We have IQC to check the dimensions and surface of the incoming material
*We have PQC to inspect full-course during the manufacturing processing
*We have FQC to inspect all the anodizing/plating and other finishes' products from our supplier and
proceed with the professional quality and appearance inspection before shipping.

Application:
* 304/316 Stainless Steel
* Use for Sailing Hardware, boat hardware, rigging hardware, yacht hardware, boat accessories
* Polished
* Made of marine grade 304/316 stainless steel, heavy duty solid construction, maximum corrosion resistance and durability in the saltwater environment.

marketing competitiveness. Our factory has earned high reputation from customers of
home and abroad. We are looking forward to cooperating with you to forge a better future!

1. What is a Stainless Steel Cable Thimble for Pipes/Tubes?
This is a specialized wire rope thimble designed to be spliced or clamped around a pipe, tube, or cylindrical object rather than forming a loop in a rope itself. It protects the wire rope from wear and deformation where it passes over or around a pipe, acting as a durable, low-friction bearing surface. It is commonly used in rigging, lifting, marine, and architectural applications where a rope or cable needs to turn over a fixed cylindrical point.

2. What are the typical applications?
Marine & Dock Systems: As a fairlead over pipes on davits, winches, or railings.

Architectural & Rigging: For tensioning cables in railings, canopies, or tensile structures where the cable passes over a fixed tube.

Industrial Lifting: As a wear pad on spreader bars or lifting beams where slings contact pipes.

Stage & Event Rigging: To guide cables safely over truss pipes.

Agriculture & Forestry: In pulley or guide systems.

3. What materials are used?
We use corrosion-resistant stainless steel suitable for harsh environments:

AISI 304 (A2): General-purpose, excellent corrosion resistance for most applications.

AISI 316 (A4/Marine Grade): Superior resistance to chlorides (saltwater) and chemicals. Recommended for marine and coastal use.

Finish: Typically supplied with a natural mill (self-color) finish. Electropolished or passivated finishes are available for enhanced corrosion resistance and a brighter appearance.

4. How do I select the correct size?
You must match two critical dimensions:

Rope Diameter: The groove of the thimble must fit your wire rope's outer diameter (O.D.) snugly.

Pipe/Tube Outer Diameter (O.D.): The inside curvature (seat) of the thimble must match or be slightly larger than the O.D. of the pipe or tube it will be placed on.
Please provide both your wire rope size and the pipe O.D. for accurate sizing.

5. How is it installed?
Installation methods vary:

Spliced Installation: The wire rope is spliced directly around the thimble and the pipe, creating a permanent, high-strength connection.

Clamped/U-Bolt Installation: Using wire rope clips (U-bolts), the rope is clamped around the thimble which is seated on the pipe. This is a common, reusable method.

Integrated with Fittings: Sometimes integrated into custom pipe clamps or swivels.
Proper installation is critical for safety and performance.

6. What is the load capacity?
The thimble itself has a high strength, but the system's overall load capacity is determined by the weakest link: the wire rope, the pipe's strength, or the clamping/splicing method.

Minimum Breaking Load (MBL): We provide MBL ratings for the thimble based on material and size.

Safe Working Load (SWL): Typically 1/4 to 1/5 of the MBL (safety factor of 4:1 or 5:1). The SWL must not exceed the SWL of the wire rope used.

7. Can it be used with fiber rope or synthetic slings?
While designed for wire rope, it can be used with high-strength synthetic ropes to protect them from abrasion over a pipe. Ensure the rope's diameter fits the groove properly.

8. Do you offer different styles (open/closed)?
We primarily manufacture the standard open style thimble, which is easiest to install over an existing pipe or into a rope loop. Fully closed (eye) thimbles are for traditional rope loop protection and are a different product category.
