Q1: What file formats do you need for quoting and production?
A: We prefer 3D CAD files for the most accurate quote and CAM programming. The best formats are STEP (.stp/.step), IGES (.igs), Parasolid (.x_t), or native SolidWorks (.sldprt). For simpler parts, 2D drawings (PDF, DWG, DXF) with complete dimensions, tolerances, and notes are also acceptable. Always ensure files are in 1:1 scale and include your part number.
Q2: What are your standard machining tolerances?
A: Our standard machining tolerances are:
Linear Dimensions: ±0.05mm to ±0.1mm (general features).
Hole Sizes: Typically held to H7/H8 tolerance.
True Position: ±0.05mm.
Surface Finish: Ra 3.2μm as-machined.
Tighter tolerances (down to ±0.005mm, Ra 0.4μm) are absolutely achievable for critical features, but they affect cost and lead time. This will be specified in our DFM and quotation.
Q3: What is the maximum and minimum part size you can machine?
A: Our current equipment allows for:
Maximum Part Size (Milling): 1500mm (L) x 800mm (W) x 600mm (H).
Maximum Part Size (Turning): Ø600mm x 1000mm (Length).
Minimum Feature Size: As small as 0.1mm (e.g., micro-drilling), depending on material and geometry.
Micro-Machining: We have Swiss-type lathes and precision mills for small, complex parts.
Q4: What information do you need to provide a quote?
A: For a fast and accurate quote, please provide:
Drawings/Models: As per Q1.
Material Specification: Grade, condition (e.g., 6061-T6, 304 Stainless).
Quantity Required: Prototype, low volume, or annual production forecast.
Critical Features/Tolerances: Highlight any must-have tight tolerances or special finishes.
Surface Finish/Coating: e.g., "Anodize Black, MIL-A-8625 Type II, Class 2".
Q5: What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
A: We are very flexible. For machining services, there is no strict MOQ. We accept orders for:
Single-piece prototypes.
Low-volume batches (1-100 pieces).
High-volume production (1,000+ pieces).
Pricing per piece becomes more economical at higher volumes due to amortized setup time.
Q6: What quality certifications do you have?
A: Our facility is ISO 9001:2015 certified.
Q7: What inspection equipment do you use?
A: We have a full inspection lab including:
CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) for 3D dimensional analysis.
Optical Comparators for profile inspection.
Surface Roughness Testers.
Hardness Testers.
Thread Gauges & Pin Gauges.
Digital Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges.
Q8: Do you accept third-party inspections?
A: Yes, we welcome and regularly cooperate with third-party inspectors such as SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek, or customer-appointed representatives. Inspection can be arranged during production or before shipment.
Q9: What is your typical lead time?
A: Lead time depends on part complexity and quantity:
Prototypes: 5-15 business days after order confirmation.
Low-Volume Production (≤500 pcs): 15-30 business days.
High-Volume Production: 30-50+ business days.
Expedited services are available at an additional cost.
Q10: What are your payment terms?
A: We offer 30% deposit, 70% balance against copy of B/L or net 30 terms.
