The company regards quality as cooperate life,as here to high standard and and high quality. We got ISO9001:2008 and TS16949 system, also sets up the consummate testing system, perfects quality assurance system, implements the rigid quality management, our aim is to realize zero defect, ensure each product to satisfy user.
The main testing equipment includes:3-coordinate measuring machine,Optical Spectrum Analyzer,tensile testing machine,impact testing machine,fluorescent magnetic particle detector,hardness tester,ultrasonic flaw detector..etc.
Featue of weco fig 206 hammer union :
1) These products are all made of high quality steel by forging and finishing cut.
2) They have good Mechanical performance and sealing property. Especially they can operate under the bad weather condition.
3) They can be assembled fixed easily and conveniently.
4) Main technical parameter model number collecting norm working pressure, structural length drift diameter.
5) The product adopts some end connections of pipeline thread, tubing thread, butt-weld.
1. What is a Hammer Union?
A Hammer Union is a high-pressure, quick-connect coupling used extensively in the oil & gas, industrial, and mining industries to join sections of pipe, hose, or equipment. It consists of two threaded subs (male and female ends) and a central union nut with protruding "lugs" (hammer lugs). The lugs allow the nut to be tightened or loosened quickly using a hammer and pin spanner, creating a robust, pressure-tight metal-to-metal seal.
2. What are its primary applications?
Hammer Unions are critical for high-pressure fluid and gas handling:
Oil & Gas Drilling & Well Service: Mud lines, cementing lines, fracturing (fracking) manifolds, kill and choke lines.
High-Pressure Pumping: For water, slurry, or chemical injection.
Mining & Industrial Process Lines: Hydraulic lines, air lines, and slurry transport.
Rig Up/Rig Down: Ideal for temporary or frequently reconfigured lines due to their quick-connect/disconnect feature.
3. What pressure ratings and sizes do you offer?
We manufacture a comprehensive range per industry standards:
Pressure Ratings: 2,000 psi (WP), 3,000 psi, 5,000 psi, 10,000 psi, 15,000 psi, and 20,000 psi Working Pressure (WP). Also available in MPa ratings.
Size Range (NPT Thread): From 1" up to 4" are most common. Special sizes up to 6" or larger available upon request.
4. What materials are your unions made from?
We use materials suitable for harsh, high-pressure environments:
Carbon Steel: AISI 4140/4142 alloy steel, heat-treated, is standard for high strength. Often with a black oxide or phosphate coating.
Stainless Steel: AISI 316/316L for corrosive services (e.g., saltwater, acids).
Special Alloys: Duplex (2205) and Super Duplex for severe chloride and H2S environments available upon request.
Seal Type: Primary seal is a precision-machined metal-to-metal seal (shoulder seal). O-ring grooves can be incorporated for double sealing in certain models.
5. What is your production lead time?
Samples: 15-20 working days.
Standard Products: 25-35 working days.
Custom Products: 40-50 working days after final specification approval.
6. How do I specify the correct union?
You need to specify four key parameters:
Size (e.g., 2")
Pressure Rating (e.g., 5,000 psi WP)
End Connection Type & Thread
Material (e.g., 4140 Alloy Steel)
Please provide your application details if you need assistance.
7. How is it assembled and tightened?
Proper assembly is critical for safety:
Hand-tighten the union nut onto the male sub.
Insert a hammer wrench or pin spanner into the lugs.
Strike the wrench with a hammer to rotate the nut and achieve the required make-up torque. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the sealing surfaces.
We provide recommended torque values with our products.
8. What are the sealing mechanisms?
Our hammer unions primarily use a shoulder-type metal-to-metal seal:
The machined shoulder on the male sub seats against the face of the female sub as the nut is tightened.
This creates a robust, reliable seal suitable for high pressures and temperatures.
Optional Elastomeric Seals (O-rings) can be added in designated grooves for specific applications requiring a bubble-tight seal at lower pressures or for dual containment.
9. Can you provide customized unions (OEM)?
Yes. We specialize in OEM and custom manufacturing for specific applications:
Special thread combinations (e.g., NPT to BSP, or to weld ends).
Unique pressure ratings or dimensions.
Custom materials and heat treatments.
Private labeling and packaging.
10. What is your MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity)?
Standard Sizes & Ratings: MOQ 50 pieces per item.
Custom/OEM Orders: MOQ 100 pieces (negotiable based on design).
Samples: Available for testing and approval.
