The Two Hole Anchor is effectively used for stripping panels from tilt tables and transporting panels. It is also a
good choice in applications where spread-type anchors can't be used and in panels constructed with lightweight concrete. It is designed with a second hole that can accept additional rebar or a Tension Bar to increase lifting capacity and distribute lifting loads deep into the concrete.
Two Hole Anchors are manufactured from high-grade steel and are available in safe working loads from 0.7T
to 22.0T. Two Hole Anchors are available in black, zinc-plated, galvanized steel or stainless steel. Special sizes
and hole positions are available to order.

1. What is a Two-Hole Plate Anchor?
A Two-Hole Plate Anchor is a specialized embedded lifting and connection insert used in precast concrete elements. It features a steel plate with two or more pre-drilled holes, welded to a reinforcing bar or threaded stud. The assembly is cast into the concrete, providing secure, multi-directional attachment points for lifting, handling, erection bracing, and permanent connections.
2. What are its primary applications in precast concrete?
This anchor is versatile for both temporary and permanent functions:
Lifting & Handling: Primary anchor for lifting precast wall panels, double tees, beams, and columns.
Erection Bracing: Attachment point for temporary guying or bracing during installation.
Permanent Structural Connection: For connecting precast elements to the building frame (e.g., moment connections, shear ties).
Facade & Cladding Support: Anchoring exterior panels to the structure.
Equipment & MEP Support: Providing a secure base to attach machinery, pipes, or ducts to precast elements.
3. What materials and construction are used?
We manufacture to precise engineering standards:
Anchor Plate: Structural Steel Plate (Q235B, Q355B / A36, A572 Gr. 50). Thickness and size are load-dependent.
Embedded Rebar/Stud: High-Tensile Threaded Bar (Grade 8.8, 10.9) or Deformed Rebar (Grade 500/550).
Welding: Full-penetration fillet welding by certified welders, exceeding structural weld requirements.
Corrosion Protection: Hot-Dip Galvanizing (HDG) to ASTM A123 is standard. Stainless Steel (304, 316) options available for harsh environments.
Nuts & Washers: Supplied with matching Grade 8 / A4-80 nuts and hardened washers.
4. How do I determine the correct size and load capacity?
Selection is a structural engineering decision based on:
Load Type & Magnitude: Tension (lifting), shear, or combined loads. Consider dynamic factors during lifting (typically 1.5x-2.0x static weight).
Concrete Strength: At the time of lifting and final strength.
Anchor Location & Concrete Cover: Distance from edges and embedment depth (development length).
We provide detailed load tables with Allowable Stress Design (ASD) and Strength Design (USD) values based on ACI 318 Appendix D, PCI MNL-135, and ETAG 001 principles. Consultation with our engineers is highly recommended.
5. What are the key design advantages of the two-hole plate?
Redundancy & Safety: Two holes allow for a two-legged sling connection, creating a more stable, redundant lifting point. If one hole fails, the other provides backup.
Load Distribution: Distributes load over a wider area of concrete, reducing bearing stress.
Adjustable Connection: Allows for connection hardware (shackles, turnbuckles) to pivot or align, accommodating slight misalignments during erection.
Multi-Purpose: Can be used for multiple connection types (vertical lift, angled bracing).
6. How is the anchor installed in the precast element?
It is installed during the precast pouring process:
Positioning: The anchor is accurately positioned in the formwork and tied/welded to the primary reinforcement cage as per shop drawings.
Securing: It is firmly secured to the formwork to prevent displacement during concrete placement and vibration.
Pouring & Curing: Concrete is poured, fully embedding the rebar/stud. After curing, the formwork is stripped, exposing the plate.
Proper alignment and consolidation of concrete around the anchor are critical.
7. What types of loads can it resist?
Our anchors are engineered for:
Tension (Pull-Out): The primary load during lifting.
Shear: Loads parallel to the concrete surface (from wind, seismic, bracing).
Combined Tension & Shear: As experienced in angled bracing applications.
Our technical data provides interaction equations for combined loading.
8. Can you provide custom-designed anchors (OEM)?
Absolutely. Custom engineering is our core service. We can design and manufacture anchors to your exact specifications:
Custom plate dimensions, thickness, and hole patterns.
Specific embedment lengths and rebar diameters.
Special materials (stainless steel, weathering steel).
Complete project-specific shop drawings and calculations.
9. What is your MOQ and lead time?
Standard Designs: MOQ 500 pieces.
Custom/OEM Projects: MOQ 1,000 pieces (negotiable based on design complexity).
Lead Time: 30-45 days for production (additional time for new design engineering and prototype testing).
10. What information do I need for a quotation?
For an accurate engineering proposal, please provide:
Shop Drawings of the precast element showing anchor locations and loads.
Design Loads (tension, shear, dynamic factors).
Concrete strength (at lift and 28-day).
Required quantity and project timeline.
Any applicable project specifications or standards (PCI, EN, ACI, etc.).
